Compact Flash Do You Have To Format New Compact Flash Memory Cards Before Using Them?

Do you have to format new compact flash memory cards before using them? - compact flash

Someone please help:) I do not have many pictures will be deleted with my new memory card and then they will find: (

It is a Lexar Platinum II 8 GB Compact Flash card, if it ever helps.

In general, longer.

Back in the day would be the sale of memory cards in FAT, and some cameras will only recognize FAT16 or FAT32. Today, the camera usually is an auto-format that makes it the first time, has the card is inserted (To create a hierarchy of image and video storage on). Most CF cards tend to use the FAT16 file system, if I remember correctly.
